My birthday was yesterday and I was thinking about how old I'm getting, which prompted flashbacks to when I was a kid. I started to think about my first video game and how many hours we spent playing it. The Atari 2700 was owned by the boy across the street and we would spend hours and hours during the winter playing Pong and Space Invaders. I think that's when the video game bug first hit me.
Now, if you're talking arcade games, my absolute, most favorite game of all time would have to be Tempest. I have gotten very attached to Tetris and Gauntlet over the years, but they haven't quite surplanted Tempest.
My lovely family gave me a Nintendo DS Lite in cobalt blue yesterday, so I can further feed my gaming needs! (Shh, don't tell them, but I really wanted the green one - but I'm not complaining!) I will hopefully getting some new games for it for Christmas, so I'll have new things to talk about soon.

Yes, it's true!
You read the blog title correctly. I am a female gamer. I play console, PC, and online games. I enjoy playing family board games, but have never gotten into PnP games.
My current games of choice are Champions Online, City of Heroes, and various games on my Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3. I used to play for hours on end every night, but now that I'm a mom, I find that my free time to play has been seriously reduced and that just sucks!
I have been a stay-at-home mom for the past 7 years and would love to find a way to be a game tester and get paid. What a great job! But, even if I don't find a real job for game testing, I will be posting about my experiences with my current games that I play.
